Parent Forum
Our Parent forum is a small group of parents who meet on average every 6 weeks on a Saturday morning to discuss everyday issues to do with the school and the pupils. This year our group will be celebrating its 5th year. Our aim is to work together with the school to improve learning for our children and to strengthen the schools links with the community.
Over the last five years, by working together with the school we have achieved many things.
For example, our group wanted to change the way we had Review Days. At the time the school closed for the whole day for the pupils and all parents/carers came in to see their child's form tutor. Many of our group asked if it could be changed so that they could see the subject teachers who taught their children instead of just the form tutor. By taking this idea to our Senior Leaders Team, the Review Day changed into the way we do things now. There are many other examples too numerous to mention that show how parents working together with the school can really make a difference.
We all feel passionately that when parents/carers work together with the school we can, and do make a difference and that our working partnership can only enhance the learning of our children and strengthen our community. |
