Pupil Teaching and Learning Group Mission Statement:
At George Greens we believe that a successful “Pupil Teaching and Learning Group” is integral to nurturing responsible, collaborative and proactive young people.
The PT&L Group aims to create and maintain a respectful and formalised student body to represent students’ views that can help inform the decision making process for academic and whole school development.
PT&L gives representatives from every year group the opportunity to meet regularly for debate and to make decisions. It aims to gather pupils’ views, to plan initiatives that will be a positive influence in the development to the teaching and learning within the school. The PT&L will endeavour to work in partnership with the schools management, with staff and with parents.
We want to become actively involved in school improvement and this will include discussing teaching and learning, observing and feeding back on lessons, and analysing new initiatives brought in by the school and departments to improve the curriculum.
In this group we will become more involved in various aspects of school life and it will help us gain essential life skills, including;
LEADERSHIP
TEAM WORK
RESPONSIBILITY
RAISING SELF ESTEEM
IMPROVING SELF CONFIDENCE
Our aim is to be at the heart of the learning community. The “PT&L” will be challenging and engaging for both staff and students.
