Specialist School Ambassador
The Specialist School Ambassadors are pupil leaders who are responsible for promoting and highlighting the work that the specialist subjects do to raise achievement and attainment.
Ambassadors are attached to the specialist subject areas to work on projects; such as “The Green Scene “(our school newspaper) , debating, “Tell It” project and working with our national and international link schools.
The Specialist School Ambassadors are selected because of their enthusiasm and commitment to school projects both in school hours and in extra curriculum projects taking place after school.
As teachers we firmly believe that changes of any sort, can only happens when we involve the pupils in the change process and one way to do so is to develop and value pupil voice. The Specialist School Ambassadors have demonstrated the power of pupil voice by helping to changes pupil perspective of what the Humanities Status means to George Green’s School and to promote the fact that Humanities does not mean simply History or Geography but the ethos of our Humanities Status, which is preparing our pupils to become effective citizens and to find their own voice and to believe that they can make a difference to their lives and to their communities.
