George Green's is an International Baccaluareate (IB) school. Our Sixth Form has delivered the International Baccalaureate Diploma since September 2008. We believe the ethos of Sharing our Humanity is reinforced by our status as a Humanities specialist school and as an IB school.
The IB aims to develop inquiring, knowledgeable and caring young people who help to create a better and more peaceful world through intercultural understanding and respect. To this end the IB organisation works with schools, governments and international organisations to develop challenging programmes of international education and rigorous assessment. These programmes encourage students across the world to become active, compassionate and lifelong learners who understand that other people, with their differences, can also be right. This is what we want for our young people.
We believe the IB Diploma will prepare our students for both university and lifelong learning. It allows for the type of specialist study offered by A-Levels but at the same time offers a breadth which students; potential employers and universities find particularly appealing. The IB Diploma qualification is recognised and accepted by universities worldwide including, of course, the leading UK Higher Education Institutions.
