4th June 2020: CoronaVirus Update

Dear parents/carers,

You will no doubt be as angry and horrified as we are by the murder of George Floyd in the USA on May 25th. Similarly, you will be outraged at the report in the UK this week that shows that Covid-19 is taking black and minority ethnic lives at up to four times the rate of people from white backgrounds. George Green's School stands united in the cause of anti-racism and social injustice in all its forms. We will be taking action as a school in the coming days and weeks and we will be asking staff, students and parents to take part. This will begin in week commencing 8th June with special assemblies and a PSHE session on 10th June at 1.30 dedicated to this topic. I will update you soon on the other actions were taking.

The government has given secondary schools permission to partially reopen to year 10 and year 12 students from 15th June. To read my response to this please  click here.
