Our sixth form is a vibrant and inclusive community where every student is encouraged to thrive academically and personally. We foster an environment that values diversity, ensuring all students feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential.
Academic excellence is at the heart of everything we do, with a strong focus on high standards, expert teaching, and personalised learning that challenges each student to excel. Alongside this, we prioritise the personal development of our students, offering opportunities for leadership, teamwork, and the cultivation of essential life skills.
We understand that future aspirations extend beyond the classroom, which is why we offer tailored career guidance and support for university applications. Our dedicated staff provide one-on-one mentoring, workshops, and advice on university pathways, apprenticeships, and career choices, ensuring that every student is prepared for the next step in their academic or professional journey. We believe that success is not just about academic achievement but also about growing confident, resilient individuals, equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in the future.
We offer:
- A dedicated Sixth Form building and study space that promotes independent learning
- Each student is issued with a brand new Chromebook, supporting our technology focused curriculum
- An experienced and talented team of teachers, with a track record of top A Level results
- A highly competitive co-curricular offer, including partnerships with top institutions
- A dedicated mentor from the 'Access Project'
- A pastoral support programme that nurtures the wellbeing and safeguarding of our students
- Alumni academic mentoring including 1:1 tuition with university students
- Bespoke support for University applications including an early applicant programme for aspiring Oxbridge students, medics and dentists
- Student led societies and enrichment opportunities such as The Duke of Edinburgh and Oceans Youth Trust
- More able and talented provision
- A wide range of scholarly resources to extend students’ learning and knowledge
- The 'George Green's Trust' offering bursaries and scholarships upon progression to university of up to £4,000
- Paid internships via the Career Ready Programme

A Level Results 2026
Celebrating our students’ achievements
We are incredibly proud of our Year 13 students and all they have achieved. Their 2026 A Level results reflect the hard work and commitment they have shown throughout their studies.
Our results included 98.5% of A Level entries graded A*–E, 82% graded A*–C and 59% graded A*–B. The proportions awarded A*–C and A*–B were both above the national figures in our results analysis.
Students achieved excellent results across a range of subjects. In Economics, 84% of entries were graded A*–B. In Government and Politics, every entry achieved at least a C, with 81% graded A*–B. Every student entered for Art achieved at least a C.
We are especially pleased with the progress students made from their starting points. Our overall A Level value added result received an Alps grade 2, placing it in the top 10% nationally on that measure. This recognises the progress students made during their time in our sixth form.
We congratulate every student on their achievements and thank their families and teachers for the support they have given them. We wish our leavers every success in their next steps.

As members of George Green's Sixth Form, you will be expected to wear business professional dress at all times. We have high expectations and it is important to act as positive role models within our community, and to your younger peers. It is important that we follow this to maintain professionalism, emulating our school values in readiness for the world of work.

The policy applies to all students and when not adhered to, students may be sent home or spend the day in the Student Support Base (SSB). Any final decisions on uniform rest with the Principal, who may delegate responsibilities to other members of SLT.
