Year 11 GCSE Results 2026 - A celebration of achievement
We are proud to celebrate the achievements of our Year 11 students in this year’s GCSE results. Their hard work and determination have led to success across a wide range of subjects. We congratulate every student and thank the families and staff who supported them.

In English, 79% of students achieved grade 4 or above, and 68% achieved grade 5 or above. In mathematics, 74% achieved grade 4 or above, and 53% achieved grade 5 or above. Across both subjects, 68% achieved at least grade 4 in English and maths, while 47% achieved at least grade 5 in both. These results place us among the top 20% of schools nationally (FFT).
There were many achievements across the wider curriculum:
- Biology: 62% of students achieved grades 7–9, and 96% achieved grade 4 or above.
- Chemistry: 50% achieved grades 7–9, and 98% achieved grade 4 or above.
- Art: 43% achieved grades 7–9, and 86% achieved grade 4 or above.
- Religious Education: 31% achieved grades 7–9, and 77% achieved grade 4 or above.
- French: 100% of students achieved grade 4 or above.
- Statistics: 100% of students achieved grade 4 or above.
Behind every result is an individual journey. We are delighted to recognise the effort, progress and ambition of our students as they take their next steps into further education, training and beyond.

Exam Results 2022
George Green's School Progress 8 score shows how much our students progressed across 8 qualifications between the end of key stage 2 and key stage 4. The score for our school is 0.22 when local authority's average for state-funded schools is 0.09 and England's is -0.03. Well done to all our students for their brilliant results !
- Progress 8 Score: +0.22 (Our students progressed significantly above both the Local Authority average of 0.09 and the national average of -0.03).
- Attainment 8 Score: 48.
- GCSE Grade 5+ (English & Maths): 50% of pupils achieved a strong pass (grade 5 or above) in both English and mathematics.
- GCSE Top Grades: Nearly 38% of students secured at least one grade 8 or 9, with 17% achieving a top grade 9.
- GCSE Standard Pass: 63% achieved 5 or more passes at grade 4 or above, including English and mathematics.
- A-Level Destination Success: 83% of our sixth formers successfully progressed to their top two university choices
