| MAY 2026Year 12 Construction Youth Trust Apprenticeships MayOur Apprenticeship programme has begun with CYT providing students the necessary skills and knowledge to be in the best place to apply for apprenticeships. Students kicked off with an introduction session and a fun team work challenge building the strongest bridge with k’nex blocks. Well done to the girl’s team who built a bridge that took on the weight of multiple phones and won by a mile. Further sessions will involve Interviews, Assessment Centres, Psychometric |
| | MAY 2026Year 7 Careers and Money ManagementIn May, all students in year 7 participated in a money management and careers workshop. Students learnt all about spending on needs and wants as well as looking at bank statements and how to create a budget. Students also took part in a fun tower task using their own budget to buy materials to make the tallest tower - whilst developing core transferable skills. We hope all our students are more informed about financial terms and responsibilities and thought about future aspirations. |

| APRIL 2026Year 12 Work Experience Mayer Brown Law Firm10 students had the exclusive opportunity to do a week work experience at international corporate firm Mayer Brown. Students gained an insight into law, completed projects in departments such as litigation, Corporate, Finance, Intellectual property, Real estate, Employment law and restructuring. Students participated in a mock court case, visited the law society and the royal courts of justice and networked with many lawyers, trainees and apprentices. |

Well done to our winning team who made over £600 profit, and second place at £300! | APRIL 2026Year 10- EY TripOn Thursday 30th April, 30 year 10 students visited EY in London Bridge, a top 4 accounting and consulting firm. The session involved an insight into finance and students networked with professionals in different roles. There was an interactive activity where our Year 10’s to sold items to EY employees and made profit. During the task students developed creativity, team work but most important sales and negotiation skills Our students enjoyed the visit and picked up valuable transferable skills. |

| APRIL 2026Year 9 Options and Careers WorkshopIn April, George Green’s welcomed volunteers from a range of leading organisations to support our Year 9 students with an engaging Options and Careers Workshop. Through interactive group activities, students developed important skills, explored different career pathways and gained a greater understanding of the world of work.s. |

| MARCH 2026 National Apprenticeship Week Assemblies and EmployersDuring National Careers Week in March, we invited in various individuals across different sectors to speak to all of our students every, raise their aspirations and provide an insight into their jobs. Monday - Doctor - NHS, Tuesday - Engineer - Canary Wharf Group, Wednesday - Pilot, SSE Energy, Barclays Financial Crime. |

All students received £15 vouchers and enjoyed a fantastic day at Barclays. | MARCH 2026 Year 12 Barclays All of our sixth form business students visited Barclays investment Bank in Canary Wharf for a fun filled day connecting their studies to the real world. Student participated in team building activities, found out about roles at the bank and completed a Dragons Den challenge. Our winning team created a VR led Work Experience to enable all young people to gain quality experience and hard to reach jobs such as a marine diver. |

| FEBRUARY 2026Year 8 S4SAll students in Year 8 participated in a skills for success careers workshop where they gained an insight into the soft skills required in the work place. Through fun and engaging activities skills, students worked with volunteers from Barclays, Accenture and JP Morgan who shared their career journeys and tips and advice about the world of work. |

| FEBRUARY 2026Year 8 AccentureIn February, 30 Year 8’s visited Accenture- a global technology consulting firm. Students participated in various activities involving an introduction to AI, Cyber security and digital skills. All our students presented their ideas as real consultants and enjoyed a pizza lunch |
 | FEBRUARY 2026Year 12 Clifford Chance30 sixth formers had the opportunity to visit Clifford Chance, leading law firm. Here they networked with senior lawyers from the firm gaining an insight into their legal career journeys as well as vital advice and guidance. They also found out about pathways into law, work experience and had a tour of the impressive building. |

| JANUARY 2026Year 12 Canary Wharf GroupOur Year 12 students visited Canary Wharf Group, the biggest urban developer in Europe based at One Canada Square. Students learnt the importance of networking and communication through activities with employers, and had an impressive tour of the infamous marketing suite modelling all of Canary Wharf.

| JANUARY 2026Year 12 - BPOur A-Levels Maths students had the opportunity to visit BP, in the Canary Wharf Office. Students got an insight into trading commodities such as oil and gas and all the different careers and roles involved in the process including Analysts, commercial and traders. Our students then had an exclusive tour of the trading floor speaking to various people in action in crude oil and gas and finding out their career journeys. Through a trading simulation, students then experienced first hand a day in the life of trading where they were provided with various situations affecting the economy and whether our students would buy or sell to make the most profit as well as putting their maths skills to the test! |

Alongside winning £25 gift vouchers, our students enjoyed an exciting range of STEM activities, from VR headsets and AI football to interactive hands-on stalls. | NOVEMBER 2025Year 9 CGI Competition TripCGI, a global technology and consultancy firm hosted a STEM innovation day focusing on different aspects of Science, Maths, Technology and Engineering. 100 students took part, and four groups went on to the regional final at the Plexal in Stratford where they presented their STEM ideas to senior members of the Met police, National Crime Agency and CGI. Our Engineering team won the presentation, designing a new and sustainable body cam for emergency services using sustainable materials and new features. |

| | November 2025Year 7 Morgan Stanley Trip30 of our budding year 7 students had the opportunity to visit international investment bank - Morgan Stanley on the 25th November. Through a fun chocolate trading game, students learnt about whether events in the world affect the price of chocolate and working in teams made the decision to invest or sell. The winning team made a whopping 27 Gold coins, and everyone finished the day celebrating with a real chocolate coin. Well done to our Year 7 trading winners! |

Daniyal- 8F, Lacey, Yahya, Ishaq- 8D, Amaya, Benjamin, Luca- 8C and Mariyam 8D | November 2025Year 8 Smart Cities PresentationsOn November 6th, 40 of our Year 8 students participated in the Smart Cities workshop with Netcompany, a technology consultancy company. All students explored smart technology and created their own idea in a new sustainable city. Our winning team of 8 created a fantastic idea of a the ‘Icare robot’ supporting the elderly with every day necessities such as cooking, cleaning and hygiene/medicine helping our NHS but our most vulnerable at home. The students will now go head to head in a regional final. |
| | November 2025Year 9 JP Morgan Schools Challenge TripOn the 24th of November, students attended the official launch for the Schools Challenge at JP Morgan where they met many professionals, created their company name and tagline and participated in a fun escape box activity putting their logical thinking, time management and team work skills to the test! Our two Teams from George Green’s will work on a sustainable project with mentors from JP Morgan and will later compete against 22 other teams. |
 | November 2025Year 10 STEM IN Aviation Trip24 Year 10 students attended the STEM in Aviation Event with London City Airport- based at the Excel on 24th November. Along with 500 students, everyone participated in sessions with major companies within the aviation industry such as British Airways City Flyer, Embraer, University of East London and Accenture. Students then worked on a sustainable challenge making London City a more sustainable airport and presented their brief to students across other schools. |
 | November 2025Year 12 EY TripIn November, 30 Year 12 students attended EY, one of the top 4 consulting firms based in Canary Wharf. Students networked with professionals and apprentices on their career journeys and experiences. The session also involved a fun business challenge where students created and sold origami to the EY marketplace making money and profit. Students really had to use their negotiation and sales skills to the test in order to get the most money for their product! It was a fantastic opportunity to develop transferable skills in the workplace |
 | Trip October 2025Year 12 Citi BankIn October 2025, 30 Economics and Maths students had the opportunity to visit Citi Bank in Canary Wharf where they had a quick fire introduction into trading. Students networked with many professionals and explored career journeys into their roles within trading or finance. Students also had the exclusive opportunity to visit the live trading floor whilst deals worth millions were taking place live at the bank, with 4 screens and data graphs, it looked just like a movie scene! |

| October 2025Year 11 Mock InterviewsOn Thursday 16th and Tuesday 21st October, all Year 11 students participated in one-to-one virtual mock interviews with business professionals. This initiative is designed to support our students' future career journeys and ensure they are well-prepared to succeed in real-world interview scenarios. Interviewers represented multinational organisations including Barclays, KPMG, Page Group, and The Key Holding Company. Their expertise provided valuable insights and feedback, helping students build confidence and develop essential communication skills. "I learnt that Interviews are not as stressful as I thought, it was actually more like a conversation. My interviewer was very patient and understanding and allowed me to think about my answers." National Careers WeekNational Careers Week at George Green's School in March was filled with some fantastic events and trips. All students had an employer assembly with an industry expert. We also had some career workshops delivered by Mace construction company and some Engineering workshops with renowned firm Atkins Realis with our science students and A-Level Physics students. We even had someone from the BBC speak to our English classes about his role at this huge organisation linking this back to this core subject. Our Year 12 students visited international law firm CMS for a careers and networking event and teachers at the school engaged with a careers bingo quiz! It was a filled week with some great experiences for NCW. |

Barclays- Year 8 Dragons Den and Year 12 NetworkingWe have organised many events with Barclays this academic year. On March 12th we had 26 volunteers from the corporate bank visit George Green's School to deliver a team building and dragons den presentation day with our Year 8 students. All students worked with the volunteers to create a solution to help the community and then presented this to judges. Our winning team created an AI Robot to help vulnerable individuals including the elderly and disabled with their medical needs at home. We also had a networking event with our Sixth Form where they touched on careers and mock Interviews. We were also really fortunate to take a group of our L3 Business students down to visit the bank in Canary Wharf earlier this academic year. |

Year 9 students JP Morgan STEM Challenge16 Year 9 students have completed a 5 month STEM programme with JP Morgan and Hark where they created a sustainable solution to air quality and food waste. Once students had an idea, they brought this to life by visiting a professional design studio where they built their product prototype and presentation boards. Students then prepared 7 minute pitches and presented to judges at the Oval Cricket Grounds in March 2025 followed by a celebration event at JP Morgan for their amazing work. There were 24 school teams across London who took part, our students did a fantastic job and they made George Green's proud! GGS Sixth Form at EYOur Sixth Formers had the opportunity to go EY in London Bridge in February where they took part in a careers and networking event. Students then visited the marketplace themselves buying and selling items to create the most profit with EY employees. GGS students really enjoyed this visit.
